About Sam

Sam hails from Cambridge, UK, and completed his MChem at the University of East Anglia (UEA), with his Master's level project completed under the supervision of Dr Chris Richards. He won a bursary from the RSC to complete a summer project between third and fourth year. Sam also was awarded an internship during the summer after his final year, under the supervision of Dr Maria Paz Munoz, UEA.

Sam is currently carrying out his PhD on the Strathclyde-GSK Collaborative PhD Programme, based at GSK in Stevenage, under the supervision of Dr Neal Fazakerley (GSK) and Dr Marc Reid (UoS). His project focuses on utilising electrochemistry to provide access to fragment-like, medicinally relevant molecules.

During his free time, Sam enjoys staying active by playing badminton and going for walks with his new wife!
